Strasburger & Siegel ... Your Laboratory Partner. Established in 1926, Strasburger & Siegel is one of the oldest laboratories in the country dedicated to the analysis of food products. Our founders, LeRoy Strasburger and Maurice Siegel, had the vision to foresee the application of scientific principles to the art of food processing. 

Today our dedication to those same scientific principles allows us to provide the highest quality analytical, testing and consulting services, at a fair price. At Strasburger & Siegel, our mission is to become our client’s most trusted and valuable testing laboratory partner. We will accomplish this through the following:

Clientele

Our clients comprise large, medium and small size companies from virtually every segment of the food industry. They include industry leaders in Spices, Poultry, Seafood, and Chocolate. Other major clients are in Bakery, Processed Meats, Flavors, Juices, Vegetables, Fruits and Sauces.


Major Instrumentation

Fully automated Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) equipped with probe.  The system is operated with GCMS Lab Solutions Software.

Fully automated Gas Chromatography (GC) set up with various detectors (Flame Ionization detector, Electron Captured detector, Flame Photometric detector).

Fully automated Liquid Chromatography set up with various detectors (Fluorescence detector, UV/Vis detector, Differential Refractometer detector, Conductivity detector, and Evaporative Light Scattering Detector (ELSD).

Various Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers configured with Graphite Furnace, Hydride Generator and Regular Flame with the ability to operate with Zeeman-effect background correction.

Fully automated BAX system for food borne pathogen analysis. This is a PCR based technology.

Facilities

Strasburger & Siegel is located in a 14,000 sq. ft. modern industrial building in the Parkway Industrial Park, conveniently located near the major highways of I-95, 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) and I-695, and the Baltimore/Washington International Airport. We are just 25 miles north of the District of Columbia.
